About Eastwood Amish Craft Furniture

Why Amish Crafted Furniture from Eastwood?
At Eastwood, we understand that everyone's home is different.  Each home is a reflection of the owner's unique style and personality.  When a home owner is looking for furniture, their "choice" right now is limited in many ways to imported furniture from the big box stores, at a quality level that is not deserving of the prices.
At Eastwood, our commitment is to build furniture "Your Way for Your Home".  Whether it's a table built to fit into a narrow dining room, or a desk specially designed for a home office, we are focused on providing you with heirloom quality furniture, built to last a lifetime.  Amish craftsmanship is well-known.....and that reputation is well deserved.  We combine this craftsmanship, quality wood stock, and designs that range from Country to Contemporary to give you what you want.
Where does the furniture come from?
All of our furniture is built in Ohio, primarily in Wayne and Holmes Counties, home of the largest population of Amish in the world.  We use over 100 Amish Craftsman who use time-tested techniques to build quality wood furniture.  Some of these craftsman specialize in specific items.....like chairs or tables or beds.  Others focus their time on building Custom pieces.  Over the years, we feel we have identified the "best of the best" in each area and will interface with them to produce exactly what you want in your furniture.
The furniture industry in this part of Ohio is well developed, starting with the wood stock, which is harvested in Ohio and surrounding states.  The sawmills located here find and process only the finest Oak, Cherry, Maple, and Hickory wood to make heirloom quality furniture.
How do I get started?  How does it work building custom furniture?
While it may sound overwhelming, it really is pretty easy.  Here's the questions you need to answer....with our help:
  1. What are the dimensions of the area that you are looking at?  Think through the size that you need now or may need down the road.....remember this furniture will last.  Do you need a table that seats 6......or maybe 10?  Do you need a twin bed or a king?
  2. What type of wood do you want?  Oak is still the most popular choice, but we are building more and more furniture in Cherry, Quarter Sawn Oak, and Brown Maple.  We can help you work through this with our experience in the different types of wood.
  3. What color do you want the wood?  Included in your price is the staining of your furniture to the color that you would like.  We use Ohio Certified Stains and have stain boards in all of our stores to give you visual representations of the colors on the specific wood that you want.  For additional charges, we will also use specialty finishes and paint to give you a unique look for your home.
  4. What style furniture do you want?  Look through the web site to start....you'll see Mission, Shaker, Queen Anne, Country....and everything in between.
  5. What if I don't see what I want?  We have a wide selection of different products available from a wide variety of craftsman.  In most cases, there are many options we can get for your furniture.....i.e. putting doors on shelves, lights in hutches, different leather colors on an office chair.....we work with you and then with our craftsman to build the furniture the way you want.  We can even take rough dimensions and ideas on something very unique and help you bring it to life.
